We're proud to announce our major fundraising project for 2026.

A.B. Paterson College has confirmed plans to transform its existing Collaborated Learning Centre into a dedicated Student Wellness Centre, placing student wellbeing at the centre of its 2026 fundraising agenda.

The initiative, led jointly by the College Foundation and the 2026 FAB Committee, will repurpose the current CLC space into a purpose-designed hub for secondary students.

Located on the first level of the Parkes Building, the centre is intended to play a key role in supporting student wellbeing, belonging and holistic development, with a targeted opening in 2027.

Principal Joanne Sheehy said the project reflects a growing recognition that wellbeing is fundamental to academic success.

“Student wellbeing is not an add-on; it is central to how young people learn, engage and thrive, and to their sense of belonging,” she said.

“This centre will provide a dedicated space where students can reset, build resilience and access the support they need to perform at their best.”

Endorsed by the Foundation Board and the 2026 FAB Committee as the College’s 2026 fundraising project, the reimagined facility is expected to deliver measurable benefits, including improved classroom focus, stronger emotional regulation, and increased resilience, particularly during peak academic and co-curricular periods.

Following an internal expression of interest process, the Senior Leadership Team backed the need for a thoughtfully designed wellbeing hub embedded within the existing campus environment.

The proposal builds on a proven track record of Foundation and FAB-supported projects enhancing student life. Recent initiatives include the Ninja Warrior Junior School playground near the Village Green, now one of the most popular spaces on campus, as well as planned upgrades to the College pool precinct.

The proposed Secondary School Wellness Centre represents a strategic investment in student support, complementing the College’s broader master plan while placing wellbeing at the heart of the student experience.

A dedicated Wellbeing Centre Working Group, including student representatives, will guide the planning process to ensure the centre’s design, services and staging align with our student needs and the College’s educational priorities.

Fundraising will take place throughout 2026, anchored by key initiatives such as the annual Foundation Gala Ball and a new fundraiser scheduled for May, with the Wellness Centre set to become a cornerstone of the College’s long-term commitment to student wellbeing.
